Cybersecurity Performance Management Enters The Spotlight
Gartner recognizes new product category that TrustMAPP pioneered
Minneapolis, MN – July 28, 2021 – When TrustMAPP launched its cybersecurity performance management software in 2015, it created a new product category. The category has since attracted more entrants, leading to Gartner’s recent recognition of the category.
In their recently published report, “Hype Cycle for Cyber and IT Risk Management, 2021” Gartner includes Cybersecurity Performance Management as an emerging product category and names TrustMAPP as one of the representative vendors in the space.
The purpose of cybersecurity performance management is to help CISOs run cybersecurity like a business and clearly communicate that to the CEO and board.
TrustMAPP’s cybersecurity performance management leapfrogs current compliance and maturity tools, like spreadsheets and legacy GRC software, by:
- Automating and speeding up assessments
- Generating remediation recommendation with budget estimates from a database of more than 60,000 recommendations
- Prioritizing remediations by mapping them to risk registers and business objectives
- Providing analytics, customizable reports, and dynamic data visualization for all stakeholders
Ed Amoroso, founder and CEO of TAG-Cyber, observed, “We see enterprise security teams starting to recognize they need a new approach to managing their cybersecurity programs. It’s good to see wider acknowledgement of that fact.”
“We’ve been working on TrustMAPP for years now, and have amazing customers who love it,” said Chad Boeckmann, founder and CEO of TrustMAPP. “But cybersecurity performance management is still new enough that many buyers haven’t heard of it before. We think Gartner’s report will help popularize the product category.”
